Q:	I have noticed that some mineral powders tend to make my skin appear very shiny, is your mineral powder matte?
A:	Many mineral cosmetics contain the ingredient Bismuth Oxychloride, which gives them a shiny appearance. This ingredient can cause itching, irritation and clogged pores for some women. To avoid these potential problems, Mineral Elegance does not use Bismuth Oxychloride in any of our formulas. As a result, our Foundation Blend has a more matte finish with less buffing needed during application and will require fewer touch-ups throughout the day.
Q:	Do I really need the Silken Veil Finishing Powder?
A:	This depends entirely on your skin and what kind of finish you prefer. If you prefer a very matte finish or tend to get oily or shiny during the day, you may find that our finishing powder is the perfect way to touch up your make-up, without adding weight. The special ingredients in Silken Veil Finishing Powder give a “soft-focus” finish that does not settle into fine lines, so it is perfect to set concealer around the eye area and to help achieve a flawless skin look.
Q:	Does Mineral Elegance mineral make-up contain sunscreen?
A:	The ingredients Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide naturally help to protect the skin from ultraviolet rays. Our mineral make-up does include both of these ingredients; however any product that claims to be a sunscreen must undergo rigorous and costly testing to be able to legally make that claim. While mineral makeup does offer some degree of protection, without such testing we are unable to provide an accurate SPF number. We recommend that everyone wear a broad spectrum sunscreen with a rating of SPF 15 or greater every day, even while wearing our mineral make-up.
Q:	Is there a special technique for applying Mineral Elegance mineral make-up?
A:	Our minerals are easy to apply! If you have never used mineral make-up before, it may take a couple of applications for you to get the technique down. Here are some tips for fast, easy, and flawless application: Foundation Blend: Step 1. Sprinkle a small amount of foundation powder into the lid of the jar, a tissue, or a small dish. Step 2. Using a gentle circular motion, infuse your Luscious Kabuki or Flawless Face brush with a small amount of minerals, working them into the brush slightly. Step 3. Tap the brush lightly against the lid or jar to remove excess minerals, or turn the brush so that the hairs are facing up and tap the base of the brush lightly on a hard surface to settle the minerals into the brush. Step 4. Apply the minerals with a gentle circular motion along the jaw line and inward toward the center of the face. Tips for Flawless Foundation: Even if your goal is maximum coverage keep in mind that with mineral makeup gradually building coverage with several light layers is better than applying one heavy layer. Try blending a pinch of mineral foundation or bronzer with your moisturizer in the palm of your hand to create your own tinted moisturizer! For even more intense coverage, use a slightly moistened makeup sponge or our Ultimate Concealer brush to apply minerals. Blushing Blend & Bronzer Blend: Just a small amount of these highly pigmented minerals go a long way to give you a healthy and youthful glow. Try starting with the little bit of product that clings to the inside of the lid and gradually build more color, if desired. For a naturally sun-kissed look, lightly apply Bronzer Blend under the cheekbones, along the temples, and across the bridge of the nose. Eye Shadow & Eyeliner: These gorgeously glowing loose powders may be used dry for a sheer wash of color or with a wet brush for more intense color and luminosity. Our Wet/Dry Shadow brush is the perfect tool for both application methods. Use either our Flat Liner brush or our Thin Liner brush moistened with water to make intense and long-lasting eyeliners, or use dry for a subtle, smoky line.
Q:	Is your mineral make-up “so pure you can sleep in it”?
A:	While there is no harm whatsoever from sleeping in our mineral make-up, we strongly recommend that you follow a night time skin care routine for your specific skin type. Most of your skin’s healing and repair is done while you sleep, so it only makes sense to cleanse at night and take the opportunity to follow a good skin care regimen.
Q:	How do I clean my makeup brushes?
A:	Clean makeup brushes using a mild facial cleanser or a gentle shampoo about once per month, or more often if needed due to breakouts or illness.  Cleanse the brush gently with warm soapy water in the palm of your hand by gently swirling the brush, rinse thoroughly with warm water and repeat the process until the water runs clear. Run the brush gently across a clean dry towel to remove excess water and help to reshape the brush head.  Leave the brush lying flat on the towel to dry over night.
Q:	Do your designer type fragrances smell just like the original versions?
A:	The designer type fragrance oils that are used in our products are carefully selected from one of several reputable manufacturers. These suppliers duplicate specific fragrances through chemical analysis in a laboratory. Much testing and comparison is done when choosing a designer type fragrance to assure that it is as close as possible to the original scent. In many cases, due to the strength of these fragrance oils, you will find that the scent is stronger and lasts even longer than your favorite designer fragrance. Do note that these are not exact copies of the original and may indeed smell somewhat different on you, depending on your individual skin chemistry.
Q:	Why does my lotion or body butter look beige, brown, or pink?
A:	Fragrances that contain vanilla may cause your lotion or cream to turn a pink or light brown color over time; this is a natural occurrence resulting from the natural vanilla content of some fragrance oils. This discoloration does not affect the quality of the product and is not harmful to you.
Q:	Are their any special instructions or considerations for your Pillow, Linen, and Room fragrance Sprays?
A:	Our Pillow, Linen, and Room spray should be shaken gently before each use to ensure that the fragrance oils are mixed thoroughly.  Please use caution when spraying in rooms with hard flooring surfaces, as they could become slippery.  It is also recommended to test on an inconspicuous area before using near light colored or delicate fabrics, staining is rare but can occur with certain fragrance oils.
